The 400 Merger Race

by Collin
(Convoy Ohio )

For some reason after I get done with my 400 race I get a major head ache. Why is that?

- Collin

First, let me advise you that I am not a doctor. I never aspire to be a doctor, nor should you take any of this advise as gospel. Now that I got that out of the way, I might have a reason to why you feel that way.

If you strain really hard at doing something, sometimes you'll get a headache. I had this happen to me a couple of times after finishing a 400 meter dash. I looked this up all over on the internet and couldn't find any definitive answer.

My educated guess after reading a mountain full of information is it has to do with oxygen-debt. You use up all the oxygen in your system doing this extended sprint, and that lack of oxygen can give you a headache.

Take this advice with a grain of salt. Actually, take it with a huge bag of solar salt. I'm not sure if this is true. You should know that what you feel isn't abnormal though.

Take care - Coach Tief
