Running, Swmming, and Working Out

by Johnny
(Miami, FL)

Good afternoon Coach, I had a question that maybe you can help me out on. I will begin training next week and will like to know what body part should I workout the days I run, and the days I swim to not over-trained my body?

Aerobic activities always come first when you are considering lifting weights on the same day. Run, then lift. Swim, then lift.

When lifting, make sure you take a day off between sessions, or work the upper body one day, and the lower body the next day.

As for swimming and running, the order doesn't really matter. You could follow the traditional order of swim and then run, like a biathlon.

On a lighter note. My dad always suggested swimming first because if you cramp up running, you can just stop. If you cramp up swimming in deep water, you sink!
